English Christian Devotion on Psalm 124:8 by Pastor Job



In today's christian devotion we find that the Psalmist here is giving thanks to God and is remembering how God had saved them from their oppression and challenges. In Psalm 124:8 we find that the Psalmist here is expressing His confidence in God's name.

We all face trial and difficult circumstances in life and no one is immune from them but the truth is we don't have to face them by ourselves but we can face them with God by our side. Too often in life we want to face our challenges and difficult circumstances by ourselves and alone thinking that we can handle it.

Sometimes those challenges and difficulties it is beyond our abilities and we need God to intervene for us. It is God's will to help His children and those who seek after him.

Here we find that the Psalmist is expressing His confidence in God's name, why? It is because each of God's name contains a promise for example Jehovah Rapha -The Lord that heals, El Shaddai- The Lord God almighty, Jehovah Shalom- The Lord is peace.

Whenever we say God's name we find comfort and encouragement. Try it, whenever you feel worried and stressed say God's name and you will find and peace and encouragement in your life.

Secondly let us not forget that God is the maker of heaven and earth, He is our very present help. God is faithful to help us as we seek His help daily and walk with Him Daily

In Today's Christian Devotion, we find that the Psalmist here is expressing about how he is waiting on God for deliverance.  The Psalmist had confidence in God that God will surely deliver him. He paints a vivid picture about how a watchman waits for the morning sun while being in the dark in the following verse.
